Screen Printing

Screen printing is the process of pushing ink through one or more fabric screens onto a garment in order to create a design on the garment. The process requires a separate screen and set up for each color (e.g. two screens for a two color imprint). Manipulating variables like squeegee pressure, angle and speed, as well as screen mesh, we are able to print accurately and with just the right amount of ink, creating a beautiful print without the thick weight of too much ink. We then heat-cure the ink in our conveyor dryer, creating a long-lasting, durable design that washes well. When the process is done correctly, the design could even outlast the garment.

In order to create a four-color logo it is necessary to “separate” the logo into four one color films. Sometimes the process of creating separations can take hours of work for our artists and, at other times, it’s a matter of minutes. It just depends on the artwork.

Many fabrics can be screen printed on. However, there are some limitations. Feel free to contact us and ask whether we can screen print your logo on your desired garment.

Just about all artwork formats are workable, but some are better than others. Some formats will need to be redrawn and there may be a fee associated.

Yes. We are proud to have two expert graphic design artists in-house. You can call or email us with your ideas, or if you are local, you can make an appointment to come in and sit with one of our artists and create your custom design.

Action Embroidery has a minimum of 12 pieces per one color design and 24 pieces per multiple color designs. Our pricing structure is based upon volume. So, as you go up in volume, the price-per-piece will go down. Small orders may be more expensive due to the long set-up times associated with screen printing.

Screen printing pricing is based on volume,  art locations and number of colors (set-up time). In order to offer our customers the greatest value, each job is quoted individually. There may be additional fees under certain circumstances (e.g. rush order, delivery, artwork, etc.).
